MTO has undertaken the preliminary design and class EA study for the addition of two lanes (one northbound and one southbound) within the median as part of the future Highway 427 extension from Highway 7 to Major Mackenzie Drive. These two new lanes are in addition to a previously approved changes to the future Highway 427 corridor. However, to accommodate the additional lanes beyond the preliminary plan, the location of some physical structures (bridges, culverts, etc…) may be modified.
